 Sandra Robinson, MBA
CDPH

Sandra Robinson has an extensive background and experience in healthcare, both on the commercial side as well as in the public health sector. She is currently the Director of the Colon Cancer Control Program with California's Department of Public Health. In that role she oversees the statewide program that focuses on increasing colorectal screening rates for Californians, particularly the underserved populations.

In her previous roles, as Vice President of Programs with the California Medical Association Foundation she worked with medical organizations including county and specialty medical societies, ethnic physician associations, health plans, public health agencies, consumer groups and community-based organizations throughout California and nationally around public health. With the American Cancer Society she was responsible for the development and oversight of the strategies of their work with Health Systems. That work focused on ensuring that the Medically Underserved and uninsured populations seek and have access to health care as part of the ACS's life-saving mission.

She managed teams that worked on partnering with Primary Care Physicians through the Partnering with Primary Care Physicians in Prevention Initiative based on AHRQ's 'Put Prevention Into Practice-A Step-by Step Guide to Delivering Preventive Services: A Systems Approach, AHRQ, May 2002'. She served on various Advisory Councils with the Department of Public Health and the Office of Women's Health with the State of California. She played a key role in launching the statewide Colorectal Cancer Coalition (C4) and is one it's founding Board members and currently serves as the Vice-President of C4.

Sandra also has a background in Healthcare delivery, specifically in the Managed Care arena where she managed a network of physicians while working for the largest Independent Practice Association in Northern California. In addition, she has spent time in pharmaceutical sales and business development with a Healthcare Hospital system. Sandra holds an MBA degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a Concentration: in Strategic Management, from California State University, Sacramento.
