 Jennie Cook
President-Intercultural Cancer Council Caucus

Jennie Cook is the past Chairman of the National Board of the American Cancer Society, the second woman to hold this position in the history of the Society. She is also a past Chairman of the Board of the California Division, and has been a volunteer with the American Cancer Society since 1965. Her involvement during that time period has been highlighted on the Medical Disparities issues, tobacco control and advocacy. She has represented the organization locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.

Jennie has been on the Board of CDOC (California Dialog on Cancer) for the past 6 years. CDOC is working on a new 2016-2020 plan to update cancer issues and save more lives. She also is the President of the Intercultural Cancer Council Caucus - the advocacy arm of the Intercultural Cancer Council working diligently on cancer and the underserved as well as access to health care. She represents the ICC Caucus on the One Voice Against Cancer Group. This group works to increase funding for NIH, NCI and CDC. Jennie has been a cancer survivor since 1964 and her husband died in 2010 from heart disease.
