Raquel is the Associate Director of State Partnerships in California for the American Cancer Society (ACS). In this specialized role, she impacts the entire cancer care continuum through engagement with payors, government entities, and state coalitions. Over her 15 years at ACS, Raquel has partnered with various health plans, hospital systems, and FQHCs on quality improvement projects leveraging evidence-based strategies to increase cancer screening and HPV immunization. Raquel also served for five years as the Vice Chair of the California Dialogue on Cancer (CDOC), California’s comprehensive cancer coalition. She helped drive strategy for CDOC and spearheaded several ACS/CDOC collaborations, such as a Get Screened California initiative which began in 2021. Raquel also launched and is currently the ACS lead for the California HPV Vaccination Roundtable, a statewide coalition of diverse stakeholders seeking to improve HPV vaccination in California. Raquel has a passion for preventive health and health equity and is thrilled to be a member of the C4 board.
