Just a reminder to WC4 attendees to make your hotel reservations soon, as most of the hotel room block arrangements are only good through either the end of this week or the end of the month (August). You might want to also check whether your organization has special rates at your desired hotel when you book your room. Davis is a college town so room rates are pretty reasonable but the week of the conference is also the first week of Fall Quarter at UC Davis – so think, lots of parents potentially dropping off anxious college freshman.
Registration also closes on September 12 and poster submissions close at midnight on September 6.
If you plan on driving to the conference, we will be updating the conference website in the next day or so about the discount pricing for daily parking, which is across from the conference center complex. The main campus (and throughout the city) has motorized bikes and scooters that can be rented if you want to just park your car and use this type of transportation. Campus also has a robust Unitarians system (many double-decker London buses) that serve both campus and the Davis community, and have convenient pick up spots across from the conference center (in front of the Mondavi Center) as well as all over town. They have two primary hubs on campus: the Memorial Union and the Silo.
